Are you a highly experienced Frontend Engineer eager to take on a leadership role while staying deeply immersed in coding? FINN is seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer to guide a growing team and own the entire frontend codebase. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute significantly to a fintech rocketship transforming financial well-being across Southeast Asia. You'll be instrumental in developing pixel-perfect UIs for high-traffic consumer platforms, architecting scalable solutions, and driving performance optimization. While the position is heavily hands-on (80-90% coding), it includes light people leadership, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both building and mentoring. Future growth into a Head of Frontend position is a realistic path for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
Own the entire frontend codebase (Angular 17+, TypeScript, Ionic/Capacitor, Firebase)
Ship the native Android app via Capacitor (with future iOS integration planned)
Translate Figma designs into responsive, performant, pixel-perfect UIs
Architect reusable components and maintain a clean, scalable codebase
Drive performance optimization (rendering, lazy loading, bundle size, API efficiency)
Set up and maintain testing strategy (unit with Jest, e2e with Playwright/Cypress)
Run feature-flag and A/B testing flows
Lead code reviews and enforce best practices
Conduct weekly 1:1s, unblock the team, and maintain high frontend velocity
Collaborate daily with backend, product, and design teams
Stay updated with modern Angular/Ionic ecosystem practices
Requirements & Qualifications
6+ years of frontend development experience
At least 3–4 years deep with modern Angular on high-traffic consumer platforms
Experience in cross-platform frameworks, ideally Capacitor/Ionic
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx (or similar state management)
Excellent feel for product & design, capable of implementing pixel-perfect UIs from Figma
Testing discipline with Jest + Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress
Experience mentoring or technically leading small frontend teams (formal or informal)
Fluent English and strong communication skills
Reliable internet & hardware, able to work ≥35h/week with decent overlap with UTC+8
