Job Description

The Ministry of Interior & Narcotics Control, through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), has announced a new career opportunity for highly qualified and experienced professionals. Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Director (Network Engineer – Core Networks) at NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad. This role is open to candidates with a Bachelor's Degree (4 Years) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecom Engineering, or Software Engineering, along with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in network operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing routine operations, troubleshooting, and optimizing core network elements, including Layer 2/3 switches, Core Firewalls, WAF switches, and IDS/IPS systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Pakistan's leading public sector organizations, offering a contract/probation basis of employment. The position specifically requires working evening and night shifts. The maximum age limit for applicants is 37 years, including a 5-year age relaxation. Key Responsibilities

Manage routine operations and troubleshooting of core network elements.,Experience in network optimization and bandwidth monitoring.,Knowledge of Quality of Service (QoS) implementation.,Conduct network health checks and SLA monitoring.,Perform preventive maintenance and incident management.,Oversee implementation and commissioning of network hardware.,Manage Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.,Ensure compliance with physical infrastructure standards.,Supervise structured cabling and equipment mounting.,Conduct redundancy testing and disaster recovery verification.,Manage backups and restoration procedures.,Implement information security controls including Encryption, Firewall management, and Security configuration of assigned network elements.,Maintain technical documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), IP Schemes, Engineering Drawings, and Technical Manuals.,Manage inventory records and vendor Service Level Agreements (SLAs).,Coordinate with audit teams, headquarters, and other stakeholders.,Monitor network performance and availability.,Provide 24/7 operational support when required.,Work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements & Qualifications
