Job Description

The Joint Japan World Bank Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is now accepting applications for Round 2 of its 2026 fully funded international scholarship. This prestigious program offers students from developing countries the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at top universities worldwide. Jointly funded by the Government of Japan and the World Bank, the scholarship supports future leaders passionate about economic and social development. Scholars will study in leading universities in the United States, Japan, Europe, Africa, and Oceania for a duration of two years. Following the completion of their master’s degree, scholars are expected to return to their home countries to contribute to economic and social improvements. The scholarship covers almost all expenses, including full tuition fees, economy-class airfare tickets, a $600 travel allowance, medical insurance coverage, a monthly living stipend, accommodation, and costs for food and books. The application deadline for Round 2 is May 29, 2026. Requirements & Qualifications

  • To apply for the Joint Japan World Bank Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Must be a citizen of an eligible developing country
  • Must not hold dual citizenship of any developed country
  • Must have completed a bachelor’s degree at least 3 years before applying
  • Must have at least 3 years of paid, full-time work experience in the development sector
  • Must be in good health
  • Must not have close relatives working for the World Bank
  • Must receive unconditional admission to one of the participating master’s programs
  • Must meet all admission requirements of the selected university
  • Applicants are NOT eligible if:
  • They previously received a JJ/WBGSP scholarship and did not graduate
  • They previously declined a JJ/WBGSP scholarship offer

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma
  • Proof of work experience
  • Unconditional admission letter
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Completed application form
  • Medical certificate
  • Valid passport or ID card
