Requirements & Qualifications

  • F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • O-Level candidates must provide an IBCC Equivalence Certificate.
  • Candidates awaiting final results may apply with a Hope Certificate.
  • **Physical Standards:**
  • **Minimum Height:** 5 Feet 4 Inches (162.5 cm).
  • **Physical Efficiency Test (PET):** Must pass the following:
  • Running: 1.6 KM in 8 Minutes
  • Push-ups: 15 in 2 Minutes
  • Sit-ups: 15 in 2 Minutes
  • Chin-ups: 2 in 2 Minutes
  • **Medical Requirements:** Must be medically fit according to Merchant Navy standards.
  • **Eyesight Requirements:**
  • **For Nautical (Deck) Cadets:** Unaided Vision 6/6 in each eye, no color blindness.
  • **For Marine Engineering Cadets:** Unaided Vision 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6, no color blindness.
