Job Description

The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) in Pakistan has announced a high-level career opportunity for an experienced Legal Advisor under the "URAAN Pakistan" initiative. This contract-based position, located in Islamabad, is within the Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions. The role requires strong expertise in petroleum laws, international energy transactions (especially LNG/LPG), arbitration, and legal advisory at a policy level. This prestigious government legal consultancy position offers a competitive lump-sum salary of up to Rs. 0.5 million per month. Candidates must possess a Master's or equivalent degree in Law from an HEC recognized university and a minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advisory at a policy level

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Master's or equivalent degree in Law from an HEC recognized university/institute/college
  • Foreign qualification in Petroleum Laws, Policy, or Contracts will be preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience (in-house, law firm, corporate group, or government/autonomous body)
  • Strong experience in international energy transactions, preferably LNG/LPG sector
  • In-depth knowledge of Pakistan’s petroleum legal framework (laws, rules, policies, amendments, and contracts)
  • Experience in handling local and international arbitration cases (preferably petroleum sector)
  • Valid license to plead cases in High Courts of Pakistan on behalf of the Petroleum Division
  • Maximum age of 55 years
