Job Description

The Forest and Wildlife Department, Government of Sindh, is excited to announce new career opportunities under the “Institutional Strengthening for Sustainable Forest Management in Sindh” development project. Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for various contract-based positions within the GIS Lab Karachi. Vacancies include Surveyor (GIS), Website Developer, Data Processing Assistant, GIS Assistant, Junior Surveyor, Driver, Naib Qasid, Chowkidar, and Sanitary Worker. These roles offer a unique chance to contribute to sustainable forest management efforts in Sindh. Candidates with qualifications ranging from Primary/Middle education to Bachelor’s degrees in GIS, IT, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Sciences, and related fields are encouraged to apply. The positions are located in the GIS Lab Karachi, Sindh, and fall under the Office of the Chief Conservator of Forests (Mangroves), Sindh. Requirements & Qualifications

  • **Surveyor (GIS) (BS-16):**
  • Diploma or Certification in GIS/Remote Sensing (preferred); B.Sc. or B.Com considered.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, Agisoft Metashape.
  • Hands-on experience in GPS-based field surveys, data collection, spatial analysis.
  • Knowledge of UAV/Drone operations and image processing is an advantage.
  • Strong skills in data management, mapping, report writing.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant GIS survey or forestry/environmental project experience (preferred).
  • Age Limit: 20–32 Years.
  • **Website Developer (BS-16):**
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering.
  • 2–3 years of experience in website development and management.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
  • Knowledge of database management and web security protocols.
  • Experience in GIS integration or data visualization tools (preferred).
  • Age Limit: 18–32 Years.
  • **Data Processing Assistant (BS-11):**
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, B.Com, F.Sc., or I.Com (preferred).
  • Skilled in MS Office, Excel, and data management tools.
  • Basic knowledge of GIS data handling (preferred).
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Age Limit: 18–32 Years.
  • **GIS Assistant (BS-11):**
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in GIS, Geography, Environmental Sciences, or other Natural Science disciplines.
  • Skilled in ArcGIS, QGIS, and basic remote sensing software.
  • 1–2 years of relevant GIS experience (preferred).
  • Age Limit: 18–32 Years.
  • **Junior Surveyor (BS-11):**
  • Diploma or Certificate in Surveying or Civil Drafting; F.Sc. considered.
  • Skilled in GPS operations and basic mapping techniques.
  • 1–2 years of relevant field experience (preferred).
  • Age Limit: 18–32 Years.
  • **Driver (BPS-04):**
  • Middle Pass.
  • Valid LTV/HTV Driving License.
  • Minimum three years of driving experience.
